Summary

Patricia "Trish Trash" Nupindju is a talented young hoverderby player on Mars 200 years in the future. She is so good that even though she is too young to join a team, and her intern contract forbids her to skate with them, her coach has her playing scrimmages. The indigenous Martian she's hiding in her garage, named Qiqi, has given her roller skates that can be used outside in the harsh Martian landscape. This cross-training is paying off well. But when her team's corporate overlords find out that Trish Trash has been jamming with the team, she loses her contract, taking on a year of extra debt, and things start going downhill for her family, fast. Qiqi's got one more gift that will change everything, but will it come in time?
